Zhang Xiaoning, an alumnus of the Beijing Foreign Affairs College’s English Department, currently holds the position of Deputy Dean of Administration at Jinan University-University of Birmingham Joint Institute. His extensive career at Jinan University includes key roles such as the Head of the Registrar’s Section in the Academic Affairs Office, Director of the Academic Office at the International College, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, and Vice Dean of the Sihai College.

Renowned for his commitment to educational administration, Zhang has garnered a wealth of experience in areas like teaching management, student academic records administration, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship education. His career highlights include being chosen by Jinan University for professional development and exchange programs at Saint Mary’s University in Canada and the Mathematics College in Birmingham. In 2012, under his leadership, the team of Registrar’s Section of Jinan University was honored with the ‘National Advanced Collective in Higher Education Student Records and Academic Degree Management’ award by the Chinese Ministry of Education. He received the title of ‘Advanced Individual in Higher Education Management in Guangdong Province’ in 2017 for his outstanding contributions. In 2019, he successfully led the initiative to establish one of the first ‘Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Demonstration Bases’ in Guangzhou. Zhang has also been a sought-after expert in the adjudication of student status management appeals in Guangdong Province and has played a significant role in implementing and participating in various teaching reform projects, some of which have won first and second prizes in the Guangdong Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards.
