Student Delegation

Student  Delegation of Jinan University-University of Birmingham Joint Institute (J-BJI) represents a key platform for student engagement and democratic participation within Jinan University. This delegation is a bridge between students and the college administration, playing a crucial role in fostering student development and nurturing a vibrant academic culture. It comprises two main entities: the Staff-Student Committee (SSC) and the Academic and Practice Center (APC). The SSC is instrumental in addressing the educational and lifestyle concerns of students, providing essential support and guidance. Meanwhile, the APC focuses on organizing diverse and inspirational academic events and practical social experiences, contributing significantly to the overall well-being and intellectual growth of the student body.

Within the Staff-Student Committee, student representatives are elected through a democratic process from each class. Their key duties involve:

• Gathering student feedback and voicing it through well-crafted proposals, addressing issues, and providing insightful opinions and suggestions;

• Participating actively in the Student Representative Congress meetings, where they evaluate reports and plans from the Jinan University Student Union, and elect the leadership for the upcoming term, ensuring the Congress's objectives are achieved in practice.

The Academic and Practice Center members, selected via interviews , are tasked with:

• Facilitating a variety of university and college-level events focused on academics, innovation, entrepreneurship, and career guidance;

• Orchestrating and implementing activities aimed at cultivating a vibrant academic culture, highly appealing to the students of J-BJI, thus promoting an enriched learning atmosphere.

Youth League Committee

The Youth League Committee of Jinan University-University of Birmingham Joint Institute (J-BJI), is a student organization under the leadership of J-BJI party organization. Guided by the full-time secretary and deputy secretary, and carried out work with the cooperation of part-time student deputy secretary and various level cadres. It vigorously conducts youth-oriented initiatives, emphasizing ideological education and Party and League knowledge. The committee is also involved in developing campus culture, facilitating social practices, focusing on mental health, and enhancing students' learning, practical skills, and innovation. Its primary departments include the Organization Department, Life Psychology Department, and Youth Development Department.

Student Union

Student Union of Jinan University-University of Birmingham Joint Institute (J-BJI) is a student organization under the leadership of J-BJI party organization and the specific guidance of J-BJI youth league committee. The Student Union is fundamentally committed to strengthening political guidance for the majority of students and wholeheartedly serving them. It is dedicated to enriching students' cultural and sports life, responsible for external publicity of the student organizations in J-BJI, and serves as a crucial link between the institute administration and the students. The Student union is structured with two co-executive chairs and comprises three departments: the Publicity and Promotion Department, the Culture and Sports Department, and the Activities Coordination Department.

Youth Volunteer Association

The Youth Volunteer Association of Jinan University-University of Birmingham Joint Institute (J-BJI) is a public welfare student organization under the leadership of J-BJI party organization and the specific guidance of the J-BJI youth league committee. It plays a central role in coordinating the  J-BJI volunteer groups, and is deeply involved in devising and executing a variety of volunteer service initiatives. These efforts ensure that volunteer activities are conducted smoothly and effectively, both on and off campus. The association comprises several key areas: the Activities Department, the Secretariat Department, the 'Spark' Volunteer Service Team, and the J-BJI Brand Publicity Volunteer Service Team.
