Zheng Xian serves as a Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Postdoctoral Cooperation Supervisor at Jinan University’s School of Economics. His expertise lies in urban economics, real estate economics, and finance. A prolific writer, Zheng has contributed over 40 papers to prestigious journals, including Land Use Policy, China Economic Review, Applied Economics, and Habitat International. His leadership in academic research is evidenced by his direction of five significant projects funded by national and ministerial-level grants.
Zheng’s excellence in academia is recognized by multiple awards. These include the First Prize in the Guangdong Provincial College Young Teachers Teaching Competition, the highest honors in Guangdong Provincial Education and Teaching Achievement in Higher Education, and the President’s Award for Undergraduate Teaching at Jinan University. He is also celebrated as an Outstanding Young Teacher in Guangdong Province. His research focus specializes in Urban Economics, Real Estate Economics, and Micro-Econometrics.
In addition to his academic roles, Zheng holds several notable positions in professional societies and organizations. He is a Member and Examiner for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in the UK, a Director at the Guangdong Provincial Association of Asset Appraisal, and an expert in administrative decision-making for Guangzhou City. Further extending his expertise, Zheng is a part-time researcher at top universities in Hong Kong, including the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and City University of Hong Kong.
